Empire State CollegeGoingOn’s Academic Engagement Network is a key component in the State University of New York (SUNY) Empire State College School of Graduate Studies’ innovative new collaborative learning environment. GoingOn will complement and extend SUNY Empire State College’s existing learning management system (LMS) by providing an integrated academic platform where students and faculty can more effectively connect with the people, information and activities that support their success and enrich their academic life experience. GoingOn provides SUNY Empire State College with an integrated social platform where students and faculty can create and participate in social classrooms, study groups, faculty collaboratives and broader program-level communities. Due to the federated nature of the GoingOn platform, constituents from each of 200 chapter communities can create a profile and build out their own identity both in their local chapter community and across NWP Connect. New Teacher CenterNew Teacher Center (NTC) uses GoingOn to support its e-Mentoring for Student Success (eMSS) program, an innovative nationwide content-specific online mentoring program that increases the retention of new math, science and special education teachers by supporting their professional growth and development. The GoingOn platform provides a more effective, modern environment where new teachers can foster connections and better communicate with others in the program, share resources and participate in online workshops, as a way of advancing high quality instruction. TechChange
TechChange partners with universities, organizations and software developers to train leaders to leverage emerging technologies for social change. In January 2011 TechChange launched a GoingOn platform which it uses to support courses, including a three-day intensive course on Applications of Technology on Peacebuilding at American University’s School of International Service. The platform is used as an interactive environment for both delivering key course resources and activities and creating a vibrant community for facilitating dialog and collaboration. Read Case Study
